I offer a personalised wedding cake service
to suit your individual needs.
Firstly we would meet to discuss your requirements. This would involve
deciding on the size of cake you need, depending on number of guests and the look you wish to achieve. For example if
you were only having 50 guests you could either opt for a smaller two tier cake but if you love the height a three tier cake
gives then you could have a dummy tier. This is a piece of polystyrene the same shape as your cake which is then decorated
and covered to match your cake and unless you try to cut into it, no one knows its not real.
We would discuss the theme/style of your wedding so see how best to corpora
te your cake around your theme/colour scheme.
What ideas
you have in mind for your cake, this might be something you have seen or have a vision of.
What kind of cake you want. Many people still like the traditional fruit cake but these
days it can be combined with different flavored tiers such as chocolate, lemon, victoria sponge or carrot cake. Or you
can have any combination you like. Please note however, that if you are having a fruit cake tier then it usually has
to be the bottom layer due to the weight of it.
Cutting
cakes can be used (just a plain cake that is cut up in the kitchen) to provide extra portions/different flavour cakes or if
an intricate design is made and dummy cakes are needed.
I
would then take everything into consideration and come back to you with a few cake designs and prices.
Once you were decided upon your cake, a 50% non refundable deposit is required
and when your deposit is received your order will take priority in my diary.
Dependent on the circumstances (this will be discussed at your consultation) the price of the cake
will include the delivery and set up of the wedding cake at your venue the day of your wedding should circumstances permit.
Fresh Flowers - IMPORTANT NOTICE
Unfortunately most fresh flowers are actually poisonous or covered in insecticide, and go against
all food health and safety regulations, therefore I will not put fresh flowers directly on a wedding cake. Should
you wish to have fresh flowers then a dummy cake and cutting cake will be provided.
Although I don't mind taking some inspiration from someone else's design, (afterall thats
how many people get their ideas) I will not directly copy a cake made by someone else unless you have their full written permission.
I am though quite happy to incorporate ideas into a design that
we have created between us.
